About Helem nejse
Helem nejse is a hip-hop group from Sarajevo, formed in 2014 by musicians who had already been part of the city's rap scene. The trio are two MCs, Admir Čular, known as Čika Gagara, and Amer Čanković, known as Stihomir Klepić, and the DJ Tihomir Radić, known as Toshi Domaćin. Their rap is full of humour and satire about everyday life in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Their first album, Go u gostima, came out in 2017, followed by Pola čovjek, pola jedan (2019), Gluten Tag (2020) and Ozbiljna zaebancija (2024), released by Sarajevo Disk and Croatia Records. Among their best-known songs are "Kabadahija", recorded with Marko Louis, "Pionirska" with Dubioza Kolektiv, and "Bosnia". They have made music videos with Edo Maajka ("Nemam") and Amira Medunjanin ("Ruža"), "Kule i gradovi" features Božo Vrećo, and the posse cut "Ajfer sanjo 4" brought in Frenkie among others. Other guests over the years include Who See and Letu štuke.
The group is as much a radio and video team as a band. For five years they made a show on Radio Otvorena Mreža, then moved to their own studio and a video format. Its best-loved part is the cartoon series Bruca Braca Bruda Brada, set in the Sarajevo neighbourhood of Švrakino Selo, which grew into their first feature-length animated film, shown at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival and released in Bosnian cinemas in September 2026.
In 2022 they played the Red Bull Symphonic concert with the Sarajevo Philharmonic, and on 9 November 2024 they marked ten years with "Ma klasika", another evening of hip-hop and classical music with the orchestra at Dom mladih in Sarajevo. In 2022 they also hosted the Helem Nejse Late Nightmare Show, a video series with live musical guests. Helem nejse also run a summer school for young people in the creative industries, where they teach songwriting, stage performance and music production.
