About Majk

Majk, also known as Dr. Mic, is the stage name of Kastriot Rexha, an Albanian rapper and singer born on 27 November 1989 in Pristina. He started out as a rapper and, from 2015 on, turned more and more to singing.

His first group was the rap duo TDS, which he formed with the Kosovo-Albanian rapper Onat. The duo released the album 17 Arsye and split up in 2009. Telegrafi later recalled that Majk stood out in TDS for his voice. As a solo artist he released "Sa dit sa net" with Snupa in 2013.

2015 was his year. The news site Telegrafi named him its artist of the year: first came "High 3", in which he held his own beside Ghetto Geasy, and in August "S'jena mo", also with Geasy, became a hit with listeners of every age. He told interviewers that he was rapping less and singing more since that song, and that he enjoyed it. He played more concerts than ever that year, among them a live show in Tirana where Geasy and Onat joined him. At the end of the year he released the soft "Dashni", produced with Getoar Selimi as executive producer, which passed five million views within three weeks.

The hits kept coming. "Kcen" followed in 2016 and "Katile" in 2017. In 2018 he released "Paris Milano" with Ghetto Geasy and "Krejt ti fala" with Yll Limani, which went to number one on the Albanian chart. In 2019 he reached number one twice more, with "Sa gjynah" featuring Butrint Imeri and "Hala" featuring Capital T, and also released "Nuk dorëzohna" and "Malena".

"Sytë mu kanë qorru" came out in 2020, "Marr" with Ledri Vula in 2021, and in 2022 "Më fal" with Dafina Zeqiri reached number nine in Albania. Majk records for Babastars.
