E.N.I.

E.N.I. is a pop group of four singers from Rijeka: Elena Tomeček Zdjelar, Nikolina Tomljanović, Iva Močibob and Ivona Maričić. The name is made of the first letters of their first names. All four had gained their stage experience in the Rijeka group Putokazi before they decided to carry on on their own, and they first appeared in 1996 on the album Putokazi predstavljaju: E.N.I. i Vivien Galetta.

Their first single, "Probudi me", written by Davor Tolja with lyrics by Alida Sarar, won Dora 1997 with 170 points, nine ahead of Petar Grašo. At the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in Dublin E.N.I. finished 17th of 24. The debut album Probudi me followed on Orfej, with the singles "Mi možemo sve" and "Ljubav je tu", and in 1998 came Saten, recorded at the Slyhouse studio in Ljubljana, with "Kap po kap" and "You're the One". They also won awards at Zadarfest, Arenafest and the Split Festival.

E.N.I. stayed on the scene through frequent work with other artists, most often from Rijeka: "Košulja plava" with Šajeta, "Profesor Jakov" with Let 3 and "Treba mi vremena" with En Face. In 2003 they signed with Dallas Records and released Da Capo, ten new versions of Yugoslav songs from the 1960s to the early 1980s, produced by Iztok Turk, formerly of Videosex. It opened with "Ti si moja ruža", a Croatian take on Videosex's "Ti si moja roža", and also held "Rijetko te viđam sa djevojkama" by Idoli and "Samo jednom se ljubi" by Ivo Robić. Oliver Dragojević, El Bahattee and Let 3 guested, and Neno Belan joined the recording.

After four years came Oči su ti ocean (2007), for which the singers wrote some of the songs themselves, with producers and arrangers such as Neno Belan and Zoran Predin. The title song won the Porin for best group vocal performance, "Traži se dečko" became another hit, and the album was nominated for best pop album. In December 2008 the group released Best of E.N.I., with all their hits and two new songs, "Polaroid" and "Crna kutija", both written by Vlado Simčić Vava. That compilation is the playlist here.
