About Vidanka Gjorgjievska

Vidanka Gjorgjievska is a Macedonian singer of traditional folk songs and newly composed folk songs. She was born on 14 February 1948 in Gorno Lisiče, a neighbourhood of Skopje, and that is why she is on Muzika-Balkan under Macedonia. She has sung professionally since 1966. The sources do not say where she lives today.

Her best-known songs are "Mnogu merak imam babo", "Jovane more Jovane" and "Kirjana vino prodava", and she sings both Macedonian songs by known authors and old folk songs. She has released 13 albums and 3 video albums, and among her early records is the EP Sakam da si moj on the Belgrade label RTB.

She has toured widely for the Macedonian communities abroad: Macedonian Wikipedia counts eighteen tours of America and fourteen of Australia, besides many concerts across Europe.

She also writes. Her own newly composed folk songs include "Pijanica, aman ljubovdžija", and with Kočo Petrovski she wrote "Po mene ne se laži ti" and "Moite usni ljubi gi ludo". The playlist gathers her recordings from the label's Topic channel, among them "Aber dojde Donke od Kulata", "Parahodot mi pristigna", "Pusta pečalba", "Crna se čuma zadade" and "Tugjinata pusta da ostane".
