About Bendot na Brakja Nune
Bendot na Brakja Nune, the Nune Brothers Band, is a Macedonian folk band from Skopje, formed in 2018 by the brothers Rade and Filip Nunevski. Rade plays clarinet and saxophone, Filip the trumpet, and the band's voices are Mimi Jovanovska and Dragan Lazev, with Robert Josimovski on keyboards and Davor Petkovski on drums.
Rade Nunevski, born in Skopje on 21 March 1995, has played since 2010. He spent two years in the orchestra of Esma Redžepova and from 2014 to 2018 played in Fokus Bend. In 2017 the two brothers presented their first album, Po patot, under the name Nune Brothers, and a year later they started the band that carries their name.
Early in 2019 the Skopje music press described the band as a newcomer that had quickly won over audiences and was much in demand around the country, often playing family celebrations. They had recorded a video project of reworked popular Macedonian songs and Serbian hits, then their audience's favourite requests, and announced songs of their own.
Those followed at Folk Fest Rosa: "Neka nema kraj" in 2019, "Za tebe" in 2020 and "Kum i starosvat" in 2024. In between came "Majkini dvorovi" and "Ljubov, i malku nadež" (2022) and "Brakja Nune svirat večerva" (2023). In February and March 2024 the band made its first tour of Australia, nine concerts from Wollongong and Sydney to Melbourne, Geelong and Perth, with Mimi Jovanovska and Darko Bilbilovski, playing their own songs, instrumentals, old hits and Macedonian evergreens.
"Veruvaj mi" came out in 2025, and to mark eight years together the band prepared two new albums with 16 songs, among them "Ljubov, što e ljubov", "Tapanite silno mi čukaat", "Život", "Sine" and "Ljubi, ljubi, ljubi". Their playlist mixes these official videos with live medleys of Macedonian folk songs, čočeks and wedding sets.
