About The Canyon Observer
The Canyon Observer are a heavy band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, playing a mix of sludge metal, post-metal and noise with traces of atmospheric black metal. They are on Muzika-Balkan because they are a Ljubljana band, formed there in 2011 and still based there. Most of their songs have English titles, and the newer ones, such as "Kri" and "Koža", Slovenian ones.
The line-up is Matic Babič on vocals, Gašper Letonja and Miloš Milošević on guitars, Nik Franko on bass and Bojan Varga on drums. Earlier members were the drummers Sašo Paljk and Simon Intihar and the guitarist David Videnšek.
They started with two EPs on Kapa Records, Chapter I: The Current of Her Ocean Brings Me to My Knees (2011) and Chapter II: These Binds Will Set You Free (2012). In 2014 they played the INmusic festival in Zagreb. Their first full album, FVCK, came out on Kapa Records in 2015 to good reviews, and Radio Študent placed it fifth among the best Slovenian records of the year. Early in 2016 they toured Cuba and closed the tour with a concert at Gala Hala on Metelkova in Ljubljana.
After a short break in 2017 they released the single "Nøll" in March 2018 and the album of the same name in April. Later videos include "Urn", "Come Home and Break My Bones", "Slepič" and "Kri".
The playlist is the band's own channel, with "Kri", "Koža", "Slepič", "Mirrors" and live recordings from Stara Elektrarna in Ljubljana.
