About Teya Dora
Teya Dora is the stage name of Teodora Pavlovska, a Serbian singer, songwriter and producer born on 1 May 1992 in Bor. Her father was a painter and graphic designer, and her mother is a journalist and writer. After moving to Belgrade she attended music school, studying piano, and won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied singing and graduated in 2014. She then lived in New York for a while, writing songs in English for a publishing company.
She came back to Serbia in 2018 and first made her name as a songwriter. "Nema limita" was written for Nikolija, and she went on to write for Nataša Bekvalac ("Dođi mami"), Zoi, Jovana Nikolić and Anastasija. The name Teya Dora goes back to her Berklee years: Americans struggled to pronounce Teodora, and this was the closest they got.
Her own debut single, "Da na meni je", came out in July 2019 on Bassivity. In March 2020 she released "Oluje" for the television series Južni vetar, followed by "Ulice" with Nikolija, "U ilegali" and "Vozi me".
The big breakthrough came in March 2023 with "Džanum", recorded for the series Južni vetar: Na granici. The song went viral on TikTok far beyond the Balkans, reached fourth place on Spotify's global viral chart in May 2023 and entered the top ten of Billboard's Croatia Songs chart. Teya Dora became the third Serbian artist with more than a million monthly listeners on Spotify, after Konstrakta and Luke Black, and the official video passed 75 million views on YouTube. Later that year she released "ATaMala" with Albino.
In early 2024 she won Pesma za Evroviziju with "Ramonda", first with the jury and second with the public, and represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö. She qualified from the first semi-final and finished 17th in the grand final. She also composed "Koeko" for Mimica at the Croatian selection Dora 2024. Her music videos are gathered here in one playlist.
