Sajsi MC

Sajsi MC is the stage name of Ivana Rašić, a Serbian rapper, lyricist and poet born on 12 October 1981 in Belgrade. She grew up in Zaječar until she was nineteen; her father, Jovan Rašić, founded and sings in the jazz rock band Generacija 5, and her younger sister Tijana, known as Tijara, often works with her. She only began writing lyrics as a student, and she later graduated in international relations from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade.

She debuted in 2002 at a rap festival at the Belgrade club Barutana. From 2005 to 2009 Sajsi MC was a collective, which released the album Misi nači naaš in 2009, and in 2010 she went solo with Daleko je Dizni on Multimedia Music. "Mama", with Damjan Eltech, brought her to the mainstream in 2011, although many listeners missed the satire in its shallow, materialistic heroine. The EP KNVK and the album Od dvanaest do šest followed in 2012.

In 2014 she released the EP Pokvarenica with DJ B.K.O., which gave her "Nadrkano hodanje", and in 2016 she sang "Silikoni" with Severina, written by her and Marina Tucaković, becoming the first rapper to perform at the Guča trumpet festival. Rad, rad i samo bleja (2018, again with DJ BKO), Kardinalna (2022) and the EP IVANARASHIC (2023) followed, and in October 2024 the album Mater with producer A.N.D.R., home of "Fux Deluxe".

Her songs deal with sexuality, feminism and society, always with humour. "Yugo dete" won the hip-hop video of the year at the 2021 Adria Muzzik Video Awards, and "Ringe jaja" was rap song of the year at the 2023 Music Awards Ceremony. She has played Exit, Sea Dance and Arsenal Fest, written lyrics for Jelena Karleuša's album Alpha and for Senidah, and in 2026 published a book of poems, Šta žulja zgrade?
