NRG Band

NRG Band is a pop group from Peja in Kosovo, led by Besnik Qaka, who writes much of its music and lyrics. In 2017 Qaka said the band had spent two decades together, adding that starting something is easy but keeping it going is hard.

Their name was made at Kënga Magjike, the big Albanian song festival in Tirana. In 2007 NRG Band reached the final with "Hajde me mu një natë" and won the award for best group. Ten years later they returned for the festival's nineteenth edition with a new rhythmic song in their own style, with music and words by Qaka, help on the lyrics from Vera Nika and Arlind Demaj, and the final work done at UNiX Studio.

The band often works with rappers and singers. In March 2014 the rapper Klepto released the video "Ca ki qef" together with NRG Band, and later they recorded "Pa ty" with Elinel. In 2016 NRG Band was nominated for group of the year at the Top Music Awards in Tirana, alongside Troja. Their many songs include "Butterfly", "Bota sillet", "Kush m'i qan hallet", "A m'don ti", "Aida", "Sirenat" and "Drenusha".
