About Marija Husar

Marija Husar is a Croatian pop singer and songwriter, born in Zagreb on 25 June 1975. She sang in her school choir as a child and later in the girls' choir Zvjezdice, where she met the singers she would work with for the next decade.

In 1994, together with her sister Ivana Husar, Maja Vučić and Martina Pongrac, she sang backing vocals for Tony Cetinski at the Eurovision Song Contest, on "Nek' ti bude ljubav sva". On Christmas Eve 1995 the four founded Divas. The group broke through at Dora 1996 with "Sexy cool", which won a Porin, took the Grand Prix of the Split festival in 1999 with "Da ili ne" and recorded "To nismo mi" with Oliver Dragojević, before calling it a day after a concert at Zagreb's Vatroslav Lisinski hall in 2005.

As a solo artist Marija Husar entered Dora 2006 with "Budi njen", which did not reach the final. Her solo albums are Familija (2008), Plesni Božić (2009) and Čarobna ljubavna priča (2013), and much of her later work is spiritual and Christmas music, from "Kirie eleison" and "Rijeke žive vode" to carols with her sister Ivana. She has also sung "When I Fall In Love" with Marko Tolja, and back in 2001 she sang on "Bolero" on the album Od danas do sutra by the rapper Nered.

She is a familiar face on television too: she was a judge on Hrvatski idol in 2005, a mentor on Zvijezde pjevaju and, in 2026, a contestant in the ninth season of Ples sa zvijezdama. She also lent her voice to the Croatian version of the animated film Sammy 2 in 2012. Her songs are gathered here in one playlist.
