About Ljuba Aličić
Ljuba Aličić is a Serbian folk singer, born on 2 November 1955 in Šabac, whose career has lasted more than five decades. His biggest hit is "Ciganin sam, al' najlepši" from 2003.
He began making music at the age of twelve, singing at weddings, and he recorded his first record, with the song "Pruži mi ruku, prijatelju moj", at sixteen. His first single in his discography, "Pozdravi majku" with "Lepa Maro", came out in 1975, and through the late 1970s he released a string of singles such as "Marija, Marija" / "Dva dobra druga, dva prijatelja", "Hoću ljubav, neću prijateljstvo" and, in 1981, "Svirajte mi za Željanu".
His first album, Hoću susret u četiri oka, was released in 1979, and from then on he made an album almost every year. Among them are Voleli smo isto vino, istu ženu (1982), Sumorno jutro (1983), Ti ne ličiš ni na jednu (1986), Plačite samnom jesenje kiše (1988), Ti si moja istina (1989), Neću da te kunem (1996), Ciganin sam al najlepši (2003), S prvom kišom (2008), Uveli cvet (2011) and Sve je laž (2013).
He has sung at the big folk festivals: at Ilidža in 1978 and 1979, at MESAM in 1984, 1986 and 1987, where "Plačite sa mnom, jesenje kiše" was his entry, at Poselo godine 202 in 1989 and 1990, at the Banja Luka festival in 1998 and at the Grand festival in 2008 with "S prvom kišom" and in 2010 with "Jedina ljubavi".
His son Dejan Aličić is also a musician. Ljuba still records: the playlist here gathers his newer songs, such as "Šabačka pesma" (2024), "Zavoleću usne tvoje" and "Kad god te sretnem" (2026), together with live recordings of his best-known hits.
