About Livio Morosin

Livio Morosin is a Croatian musician, singer and songwriter, born on 24 January 1963 in Vodnjan, a small town near Pula in Istria. He is one of the best-known authors of Istrian pop rock and ethno music.

His career began in Vodnjan in 1980, when he was one of the founders, with Edi and Vlado Maružin, Čedomir Mošnja and Igor Arih, of the band then called Gustaph i njegovi dobri duhovi, today's Gustafi; he played guitar and sang. Edi Maružin of Gustafi is his cousin.

He then wrote songs for Alen Vitasović, which became the most celebrated period of his work: he was producer, lyricist and composer of Vitasović's album Gušti su gušti (1993). In 1996 he made an album with the group Anelidi, I Anelidi su bili crnci, with the hit "Tri naranče", which was heard at the Etno festival in Neum. Bura tramuntana (1999), made with Dario Marušić, won the Porin for best ethno album, and Orihi, orihi (2002) was a collaboration with the actor Rade Šerbedžija.

His first solo album, Tri naranče, came out in 2005, followed by Livio Morosin (2007), Glas Istre (2010), made again with Alen Vitasović, and Motovun (2014). In 2018 he released Hereza with Maer, and in 2025 Croatia Records issued The Best Of. He plays with his own backing group, the Livio Morosin Band.

His songs have been performed at many festivals, among them Kultfest in Rovinj, the Split and Zadar festivals, MIK, the Arena festival in Pula and the Etno festival in Neum, where he has often won awards. Among his best-known songs are "Tri naranče" and "More dimboko".
