About Lea Sirk

Lea Sirk is a Slovenian pop singer, songwriter and flautist, born on 1 September 1989 in Koper. She studied the flute at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva and has been singing for many years, performing since 2006 and writing many of her own songs.

Her first notable appearance was at Prince of Venice, where she won Veseli tobogan for the Primorska region. She sang at the FeNS festival in 2004 with "Kitarist" and in 2005 with "Pustite me živeti", and in 2005 she was named the most promising singer at an international competition of orchestras with soloists in Cologne. She also reached the final of the third season of Bitka talentov, losing only to Eva Černe.

Festivals followed. At Melodije morja in sonca 2007 she sang "Povej mi, kdaj" with Jasna Jug and won the third prize of the expert jury. At EMA she finished ninth in 2009 with "Znamenje iz sanj" and tenth in 2010 with "Vampir je moj poet", and in 2011 she took part in Misija Evrovizija with the group Leaparfume. At Slovenska popevka 2012 "Čudovit je svet" won the prize for the best interpretation, and in 2013 she co-wrote "Mars in Venera", the winning song of Melodije morja in sonca.

She knew the Eurovision stage before she stood on it alone, as a backing singer for Tinkara Kovač in Copenhagen in 2014 and for ManuElla in Stockholm in 2016. In 2018 she won EMA with "Hvala, ne!", which she wrote with Tomy DeClerque, and represented Slovenia in Lisbon, reaching the final and finishing 22nd. The same year "Moj profil" won Melodije morja in sonca and the jury prize for the best music.

Lea Sirk is also a familiar face on television. From 2012 to 2014 she sang in the house band of Moja Slovenija, she took part in both seasons of Parada on Televizija Slovenija, and in 2017 and 2018 she sang with the POP TV dance orchestra led by Bojan Zupančič on Zvezde plešejo. In autumn 2017 she reached the final of the fourth season of Znan obraz ima svoj glas, and two years later she returned to the show as a judge.

Her albums are Roža (2014) and 2018 (2018), the second with "Hvala, ne!", "Moj profil", "Recept za lajf" with Drill and "Koperchlanka". Later singles include "V dvoje", "Po svoje", "V krogu", "Always You" and "Zgodba za dva", which came second at Slovenska popevka 2021.
