About Klapa Ragusa

Klapa Ragusa is a klapa from Dubrovnik, Croatia, and it is based in the city whose old name it carries: Ragusa is the historical name of Dubrovnik. That is why it is on Muzika-Balkan. A klapa is a small Dalmatian vocal group singing in close harmony, mostly without instruments.

The group sings the songs of Dubrovnik and Dalmatia. In the summer of 2017 it was one of the five Dubrovnik klapas in the city's programme "Ulicama našeg Grada" ("The streets of our City"), which ran from 21 July to 31 August, singing on Monday evenings at Peskarija, by the old harbour.

Its recordings include "Nemoj Kate", "Frane moja", "Kad zazvone dubrovačka zvona", "Splet dubrovačkih pjesama", a medley of Dubrovnik songs, "Skalini od Buže", "In vino veritas" and "Okrećem stranice ljeta". The playlist gathers twelve of them, as the group itself put them online in 2008.
