About Klapa Ošjak

Klapa Ošjak is a Croatian klapa, a group of men singing traditional Dalmatian harmony, from Vela Luka on the island of Korčula. It was founded there in 1976, and it is on Muzika-Balkan as a Croatian group born in and based in Vela Luka.

Over the years the klapa has been led by the musical directors Mirko Oreb, Petar Prizmić, Dinko Fio, Duško Tambača and Krešimir Magdić. It worked most closely with the composer Dinko Fio, sang words by the poets Jakša Fiamengo and Lucija Rudan, and also performed with Oliver Dragojević.

From 1978 the klapa was an almost regular guest at the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas in Omiš, the main stage for the genre. It was the overall winner there in 1981 and 1983, and in 1994 it won again with "Ruko moja, što si takla", with music by Krešimir Magdić and words by Jakša Fiamengo. It also sang at the Marko Polo festival in Korčula and, with Jasna Zlokić, at the Split festival in 1985.

Klapa Ošjak released two recordings of its own and took part in several joint ones, and in 1997 it won the Porin for the best album of folk music. The group has also sung abroad, in the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic and in Germany, where it performed for the 750th anniversary of Berlin.

The line-up named by Croatian Wikipedia is Tonči Miletić Gulin and the second tenors Marko Gugić Kotarac and Zoran Borovina Krpača, the baritones Janes Vlašić and Nikša Andreis, and the basses Perica Dragojević Lande, Vlaho Oreb and Franko Šeparović Koža. The playlist here is their Topic channel, with songs such as "Ludo more", "Bilo cviće o' mendula", "Naši škoji" and "Moja Emilija".
