About Gordana Lazarević
Gordana "Goca" Lazarević is a Serbian folk singer, born on 28 March 1954 in Takovo. She moved to Belgrade, where she studied tourism, and her gift for dance and singing took her to the folk ensemble KUD "Ivo Lola Ribar", with which she toured across Yugoslavia.
Her career began in 1973, when she won the award for best newcomer at the Beogradski sabor. In 1975 she recorded an album of 32 traditional songs, and she then sang in the vocal group Đerdani with Snežana Đurišić and Goca Stojićević. From 1977 to 1980 she sang at the Ilidža festival, and she appeared at MESAM in 1984 and 1989.
From 1980 to 1990 she was married to the composer Milutin Popović Zahar, whom she had met at KUD "Ivo Lola Ribar", where he led the orchestra; they have two children, and their work together produced many of her biggest hits. Over the years Goca Lazarević released 13 singles and around twenty albums, from Noć meraka (1977) to Mala žena (1999) and Moje najlepše pesme (2010). Her best-known songs include "Svilen konac", "Maramica", "Mala žena" and "Koliba kraj puta".
She sang at the Grand Festival in 2008, and later singles include "Zadnja avantura" (2009) and "Što je dobro, dobro je" (2019). At the Lira festival she won the first prize of the jury in 2013 with "Tako muški lep", an award for preserving Serbian folk song in 2016, and both the main and the audience award in 2018 with "Dva ponosa". In 2018 the Association of Serbian Estrada and Music Artists gave her a lifetime achievement award, and in 2020 she was a guest of the Sabor narodne muzike Srbije. In 2026 she released "Žute dunje" with Zoran Stojanović and announced a golden-jubilee concert. The playlist is her own channel.
