About Džansever
Džansever Dalipova, known simply as Džansever and in Turkey as Cansever, was a singer from Veles in North Macedonia. Born on 8 July 1967, the youngest of seven children in a Roma family, she sang Romani music at home and became a well-known arabesk singer in Turkey, while staying popular across the Balkans.
She sang from childhood, and her career began in North Macedonia. Her first album, Kemano bašal e romenge, came out there in 1992, and songs such as "Kali", "Sa ka dav akaja rat" and "Me jakha but roven" belong to her Romani repertoire.
Her breakthrough in Turkey came in 1997, when she appeared on İbrahim Tatlıses's television programme İbo Show and sang "Kara Çadır". The same year she released Meçhul, which included the song, and in 1998 her version of the folk song "Cemalim" made her widely known in Turkey. Yollar Hasta Ben Yorgunum followed in 2000 and Farklı Yorum in 2006.
After a break she kept recording: Ben Ne Günler Gördüm and the single "Roman Kızı" in 2014, Hala Seviyorum in 2015, and in 2016 Doya Doya Arabesk, whose "Kime Bu İnat" reached a wide audience. Her duet "Havalı Geliyor" with Kobra Murat and DJ Yılmaz, a Roma-style track from 2019, was used in the television series Çukur.
Džansever died on 8 August 2026, at the age of 59, in a hospital in Essen, Germany, after a long illness.
