About Dan Talevski
Dan Talevski is a Canadian pop and R&B singer and songwriter from Georgetown, Ontario. He comes from a Macedonian background, according to the English Wikipedia, and that family background is why he is on Muzika-Balkan under Macedonia. He sings in English, and after some years in Los Angeles he returned to the Toronto area in 2011.
He first became known on YouTube in 2007, when a short clip of him singing Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around... Comes Around" went viral and he began posting covers by request. The producer Polow da Don flew him to Los Angeles to meet Jimmy Iovine, and he signed with Interscope Records. His debut single "Do It Again", featuring Soulja Boy and produced by will.i.am, came out on 8 November 2010. That August he opened the Canadian dates of the Backstreet Boys' This Is Us Tour, introduced on stage each night by Howie Dorough.
Wanting to write his own songs, he left Interscope and went home in 2011. In 2015 he became one of the first creators of Much Digital Studios, signed with eOne Music Canada and released "Guilty As Sin", followed by "My Religion", filmed in Spain, and in 2016 "Knock Me Off My Feet", shot in Las Vegas. In 2016 he was nominated for pop artist of the year at the Indie Awards, for best new solo artist at the Canadian Radio Music Awards and for best new Canadian artist at the MuchMusic Video Awards.
He has also written for other artists, including Robin Schulz's "Love Me Loud", Tyler Shaw's gold single "House of Cards" and Keshia Chanté's "I Miss U". His later singles include "The Wire", "Touch The Sky", "Don't Ever Leave" and "Detonate", all in the playlist from his own channel, together with some of the early covers that started his career.
