Anna

Anna is an Italian rapper and singer, one of the biggest names of Italian rap in the 2020s. She was born Anna Pepe on 15 August 2003 in La Spezia. Her father, Cristian Pepe, is a former footballer and DJ of Neapolitan origin, and her mother, the sculptor Stella Sanvitale, is of Serbo-Croatian origin; that family line is why she is on Muzika-Balkan. She grew up around La Spezia with her brother Pablo and made her first tracks in her bedroom there, and after her breakthrough she moved to Milan.

She studied graphic design at secondary school, began posting freestyles on Instagram in 2018 and appeared on tracks by the rapper Anis. Her first song, "Baby", came out in March 2019. Early in 2020 "Bando" spent three weeks at number one on the Italian singles chart, making her the youngest Italian artist ever to debut at the top. She signed to Virgin Records and moved to EMI in 2023.

The EP Lista 47 (2022) went platinum. In 2023 "Cookies n' Cream", with Guè and Sfera Ebbasta, entered the chart at number one, and "Everyday", with Takagi & Ketra, Shiva and Geolier, held number one for seven weeks between October 2023 and January 2024.

Her debut album, Vera Baddie, came out on 28 June 2024, spent nine weeks at number one and has gone five times platinum. Its single "30ºC" sat at number two for eleven weeks before reaching number one in late August. "Désolée" entered at number one in 2025, and in 2026 her second album, Million Dollar Babe, also went to the top, as did "2 giorni di fila" with Geolier and Sfera Ebbasta.

Billboard Italia named her Woman of the Year at its Women in Music awards in 2024, and in 2025 she was honoured as Italian Woman of the Year at Billboard's Women in Music event in Los Angeles. The playlist is her album Vera Baddie, from "Bikini" to "30ºC".
