In 1993 the TV show Poglej in zadeni brought him to Slovenia, and he stayed. His first Slovenian concert, in the Tabor hall in Maribor, began a run of concerts in sports halls that was still going twenty years later. After his third Slovenian album Werner also became a producer, and he has written songs for Helena Blagne, Natalija Kolšek, Natalija Verboten and Marjan Zgonc. In October 2012, twenty years into his career, he sold out the Tabor hall while preparing his 18th solo album, with the single "Konec je"; Križ na duši followed in 2013. In 2018 he danced in the second season of Zvezde plešejo.

To mark 30 years on stage he released the double album Lom on Dallas Records in 2019, with "Kada voli srce južnjačko", and planned new hall concerts in Maribor and Ljubljana for spring 2020. The playlist is his Menart compilation 12 največjih hitov.
