About Tutti Frutti
Tutti Frutti is a Croatian rock band from Split, formed in 1986 as Tutti Frutti Balkan Band and renamed Tutti Frutti Band two years later. The original line-up was singer Ivo Amulić, lead guitarist Ivo Jagnjić, drummer Zdravko Sunara, rhythm guitarist Nenad Ninčević, bass player Davor Pastuović and keyboard player Miroslav "Miše" Rovinjež. Songwriter and guitarist Tomislav Mrduljaš and bassist Nenad Bego also played in the early band.
The band debuted with Brzi vlak u nogama on Suzy in 1986 and followed it with Gore iznad oblaka (1987, PGP RTB), then three albums on Jugoton: Stvari lagane (1988), Krila leptira (1989) and Opusti se i uživaj (1990). The ballads "Stvari lagane" and "Nasloni glavu na moje rame" are among their best-known songs, together with "Ne bojim se drugova tvoga frajera".
Ivo Amulić sang with the band until 1991, when Marsell Benzon took over, and Vozio sam cijelu noć came out on Croatia Records in 1992. Alen Nižetić was the singer from 1994 to 1996, and Ruže i vino followed in 1996.
That year Tutti Frutti recorded "Dalmacijo", with Nižetić singing; its writers were Nižetić, Nenad Ninčević and Davor Pastuović. Hopes for it were low and no music video was made at the time, but the song became the unofficial anthem of HNK Hajduk Split and its fans, who sing it at key moments at the Poljud stadium, including when the teams walk out. In 2023 Hajduk released an official video for it, filmed at Poljud before the October derby against Dinamo.
The compilations Stvari lagane (1997) and Zlatna kolekcija (2007) came out on Croatia Records. Amulić returned in 2009-2010, and in 2010 the band recorded Pivo & Tequila for Dancing Bear and then broke up again.
