Smetnaki

Smetnaki are a Slovenian band from Kranj that plays music shaped by ska, punk and funk. They are on Muzika-Balkan because the band was formed in Kranj and its members come from Kranj and the area around Tržič, where the band is based. They sing in Slovenian, and their 2026 single "Direkt u život" has a Croatian title.

The idea for the band goes back to June 2016, and Smetnaki have played since January 2017. In 2020 the line-up changed: four of the first members left, and the bassist Amadei Šaršanski, the guitarist Rok Valjavec and the drummer Anže Podobnik joined. With them are Gal Grobovšek on tenor saxophone and vocals, Žan Škrjanec on trombone and Anže Balantič on trumpet.

In 2022 they won the Škisolov and Šourock contests, and in the same year they released their first two singles, "Vrvohodec" and "Vožna". The EP Funkyskapunk inc. followed in 2023, the year they put "Orhideja", "100 problemov", "Hotel mama" and "Blond bejba" on their channel. Later came the official videos for "Guantanamo" and "Nisi pank" (2024), the single "Halt" and, in 2026, "Direkt u život", also filmed live at the Škrlovec tower.

The playlist is the band's own channel, from the early live clip of "100 problemov" to the newest singles.
