About Sezam

Sezam, also credited as Grupa Sezam and Orkestar Sezam, is a folk and pop-folk group from Bosnia and Herzegovina that made records in the 1980s. Their records came out on the Sarajevo labels Sarajevo Disk and Diskoton, and their last album was recorded in Tuzla, which is why they are on Muzika-Balkan under Bosnia. Discogs names Zoran Čeleketić and Esma Trumić as members.

Their first record was a 1981 single on Sarajevo Disk with "Siniša iz Niša" and "Nema više bosanskih kafana", written by Fadil Šabović and arranged by Vlatko Marković. The first edition was pressed in 10,000 copies.

In 1982 Sarajevo Disk released their album Sezame, otvori se..., produced by Vlatko Marković. Its eleven songs are the playlist on this page: the title song, "Sviraj, sviraj, Sezame", "Sezamova čarlama", the old Bosnian song "Sjeo Mujo na ćupriju", "Januarske noći", "Izaberi zvijezdu", "Idi", "Rastanak", "Šumadijski čaj" and more.

The album Zoran, Adnan, Sevret, Sejo followed in 1986 on PGP RTB, with "Kristina", "Erogena zona", "Striptizeta Mara" and a new version of "Januarske noći". In 1990 Diskoton released Gdje si dušo, shared with the singer Morana; it was recorded in Tuzla in December 1989, with Zoran Čeleketić as arranger and producer and songs by Ekrem Hadžić. The group also appears on the Kalesijski zvuci compilations.
