About Ryva Kajtazi
Ryva Kajtazi is a Kosovar singer and actress, born on 9 March 1982 in Podujeva. She went to school there and then studied at the University of Pristina. Her music is pop-folk, the style she has kept to since the start of her career.
Her first singles came in 2008: "Më pëlqen" and "Iluzion", an Albanian version of Sibel Can's "Çakmak çakmak". "Hipnotizon" followed in 2010, and in 2011 she released "Hajde zemër", after which, as Albanian Wikipedia puts it, she very quickly became popular. "Të kam pranë" came out the same year, "Duhemi" and "Nata" in 2012, and in 2013 "Për ty flas" and "Më thuaj po", a duet with Sefë Duraj. A best-of collection was released in 2014, the year of "Kur dua".
Later songs include "Santorini" (2019), "Hajde ma knena" with Turabi (2022), the year-end pop-folk song "A t'bjen n'mend për mua", recorded when she returned after a year away from music to raise her daughter, and "Më mbyti malli" (2025). She has said she does not plan another album, because these days every song needs its own video to reach people. Besides concerts and music evenings she is much in demand as a wedding singer, which she calls a privilege.
Ryva has also acted: in the comedy series Bashkallajk, produced in Pristina since 2023 and broadcast on Tëvë1, she plays Merita.
The playlist gathers the official videos from her own channel, from "Hipnotizon" and "Hajde zemër" to "Kur dua".
