About Postolar Tripper

Postolar Tripper was a hip-hop, ska and reggae band from Zadar with a strong taste for Dalmatian humour and local folk sounds. The band was born in Zadar, played from its home town for its whole career and split up in 2017, after about fifteen years together.

It started in the early 2000s as a hip-hop duo on Zadar's Radio 057. Their first single, "Ošljačka saga", a funny song about Zadar's islanders, was made for the radio's comedy show "Generacija Ex". The next one, "Tužna priča o selu", better known as "Koga, čega, janjetine", confirmed their mix of hip-hop and ethno and topped the chart of HTV's teen show Briljanteen for months in 2005. The debut album Sve što iman san ukra followed, the duo put together a band to play live, and "Čuvaj se sinjske ruke" ended up in a film of the same name. Next came Zamisli život u ritmu cipela za ples, an album of new wave covers.

Popravni (2008) brought the hits "Na rubu ponora", "Palma u pitaru" and "Marijana" and turned the group, by now seven musicians, into a concert attraction, with sold-out shows at Zagreb's KSET and at Stereo dvorana in Rijeka. With Čujem ja netko šuti (2012) and the singles "Burza rada", "Largo" and "Gajeta" they became one of the best-loved Croatian bands of the time. "Gajeta", made with klapa Libar, won the award for best debutants at the Šibenik chanson festival in 2012.

In 2013 they marked ten years with a big concert at Tvornica kulture in Zagreb and won the Porin for best club music album. Their last album, Kamo sutra?, came out in 2016 with "Irska" and "Tako teško". The band released its records on Menart. Its last line-up had singers Davor Valčić and Darko Predragović-Dabi, guitarist Renato Babić, bassist Pave Ruić, percussionist Ivan Bačinić-Bačko, trumpeter Dinko Habuš and drummer Goran Šućurović-Macko. The playlist is the album Čujem ja netko šuti.
