About Jure Brkljača

Jure Brkljača is a Croatian pop singer and songwriter from Zadar, born there on 21 September 1994. He sings and plays guitar and piano, and ballads are the style he feels most at home in.

Music runs in the family: his father and brother are musicians too. He picked up the guitar at seven and began writing songs in secondary school. In 2015 he reached the public through the first season of The Voice Hrvatska, where he finished fourth in the team of Tony Cetinski. Cetinski brought him to Hit Records, where he met the songwriter Miroslav Rus, who has written many of his songs since.

His first single, "Druga strana", came out in 2015, followed by "Pristani na sve" (2017), "Ona me vuče" and "Što osjećaš ti" (2018). His first big hit came at Dora 2019, the Croatian Eurovision selection, with "Ne postojim kad nisi tu": it finished eighth, but reached number three in the Croatian chart. "Lipa" (2019), "Hajde nazovi me!", which he sang at Dora 2020, and "Znao sam" (2020) all made the top five.

His debut album, Ostani tajna moga života, came out on Hit Records on 25 March 2021, and its title song climbed to number two. Because of the pandemic it was promoted mostly on radio and social media. "Da sutra odem od tebe" (2022) and "Isti ka i ti" with Dino Petrić (2023) were further hits, and "Sreća je propast za tugu" was announced as the way to a second album.

In 2024 he paid tribute to his home town with "Zadar zauvik", music by Brkljača and words by Miroslav Rus and Dino Petrić, in a video directed by his brother Marino. He names Tomislav Ivčić as his main role model.
