About Emilija Kokić
Emilija Kokić is a Croatian pop singer from Zadar, born there on 10 May 1968. She is best known as the voice of Riva, the Zadar group that won the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest in Lausanne with "Rock Me", taking 137 points four days before her 21st birthday. She has also performed as Emy and Emily.
When Riva split up in 1993 she started a solo career, and through the 1990s and 2000s she released a steady line of albums: Emilia (1994), 100 % Emilia (1995), Ostavi trag (1996), S moje strane svemira (1999), Ja sam tu (2001), Halo (2004) and Čime sam te zaslužila (2008), on the Minacord and Hayat labels. Several of her singles reached number one in Croatia.
Duets are an important part of her story. In 1996 she recorded "Ja sam vlak" with Nina Badrić, and in 2004 "Jesmo li jedno drugom suđeni" with Boris Režak. Her best-known solo songs include "Javi se", "Ja sam bila s njim" and "Santa ledena".
She returned to the Eurovision stage through Dora, the Croatian selection, several times. In 2001 she finished second with "Ljepota", sung with Juci; in 2003 she sang "Žena od pepela"; and in 2008 she shared sixth place with "Anđeo". At Dora 2011 she sat on the jury and sang "Rock Me" once more.
Emilija Kokić lives in Zadar and Zagreb. Besides performing she runs her own singing school and has taught more than 400 students.
