About Nino Rešić
Amir Rešić, known by his stage name Nino, was a pop-folk and turbo-folk singer, born on 22 January 1964 in Bosanska Dubica, today Kozarska Dubica. In the 1990s he became one of the leading pop-folk singers of the former Yugoslavia, with a long run of hits.
He spent his childhood up to the age of 13 in Smederevska Palanka, his father's town, and after finishing school he moved to Kruševac in Serbia in the 1980s to pursue a singing career. His first album, Žena je žena, came out in 1991 on PGP RTB. The second, Što mi noći nemaju svanuća (1992), brought his first bigger success with the title song and "Noć ne noćim".
Zbogom, mala (1993), made for the ZaM production, took him to the very top of the scene with as many as eight hits, among them "Usne vrele kao žar", "Ne brini se", "Vatra i vino", "Daj mi tvoje crne oči" and the title song. In 1994 he moved to PGP RTS, and Šta ću, mala, s tobom gave "Udahni duboko", "Donesi divlje mirise", "Oči bez sjaja" and the title song; he also received the Oskar popularnosti. For Diskos in 1995 he recorded "Tvoje oči", "Idi, moram da ti kažem", "Otrovana grehom" and "Nije meni".
Back at PGP RTS from 1996 came "Ljubav je slepa", "Za prošlu ljubav" and "Kao vetar lak", and Tebi ravno sve do mora (1999) brought "Ružo mirisna", "Ti si ćerko tatin sin" and "Kraljica Balkana". "Trebaš mi", "Kunem ti se" and "12 meseci" followed in 2000 and 2001. His best-known duets are "Divlja devojka" with Dragana Mirković, "Tanka žica, tanke niti" with Snežana Đurišić and, later, "Ja ljubim druge" with Sonja Mitrović Hani. His last albums, for the VIP and Renome productions up to 1 na 1 (2006), were less successful; he made 14 albums in all.
In 2004 he moved back to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nino Rešić died on 18 October 2007 in the general hospital in Bijeljina, at 43, and was buried at the Urije cemetery in Kozarska Dubica. Songs left unreleased at his death included "Alma", "Pasji život" and "Kad bi pjesma bila". His daughter Sandra is also a singer and competed in Zvezde Granda.
