About Jasmin Muharemović
Jasmin Muharemović is a Bosnian pop-folk singer, born on 22 February 1965 in Tešanj. He began his career in 1983, when at seventeen he left home for Požarevac to work with the folk hit-maker Novica Urošević; by his own account he nearly got off the train and went back, and he worked and waited a long time before the partnership began.
Their first album, "Ja sam taj", came out on Diskos in 1987 and sold 250,000 copies, a huge result for a newcomer. By his own account it made him known overnight and soon paid for a house in Požarevac and a flat in Belgrade. Urošević also wrote "Prvi momak" (1988), "Osvajač" (1989) and "Bolje ljubav, nego rat" (1991), and the late 1980s brought Jasmin's best-known hits: "Ja sam taj", "Osvajač", "Neću da ti brišem suze" and "Mače moje lažljivo".
Because of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina he moved to Vienna, where he still has a home, and he now travels between Vienna, Tešanj and Belgrade. His albums of those years were "Sve me boli" (1994), "Crna ženo" (1995), "Vjernost i nevjerstvo" (1998), written again by Urošević, and "Ginem, ginem" (1999), followed by "Nešto nemoguće" (2001), "Jasmina" (2003), "Žilet" (2005), "Ubaci me u mašinu" (2007) and "Ljubav mala, briga velika" (2010). Shortly before Urošević died, Jasmin recorded the composer's last song, "Ciganski car".
Jasmin Muharemović is married with two sons. His brother is the pop-folk singer Esad Plavi, who also went to Vienna and later moved to the Netherlands.
