He made his first LPs with the band of Aca Stepić; he has said they made three big albums together. In 1989 he released Kad ti teško bude on Jugoton and Hej, mala, malena on Diskos, then Naše vreme dolazi (1990) and Nikome nismo krivi (1992).

His records kept coming through the 1990s and 2000s: Vesela kafana (1995), Odlazim daleko on Nimfa Sound (1996), Slijepi putnik (1998), Zbog te žene on Grand Production (2000), Samo ti (2003), a live album in 2004, Šarmer (2005), Stižu godine (2008) and Premijerno (2011). He also sang at the Bihać festival and at the Ilidža festival of 2008. Among his best-known songs are "Gde je žena koju sam voleo", "Kad ti teško bude", "Kako starim sve te više volim" and "Stižu godine", several of which other singers have covered.

Šike lives in Tuzla, where his family has long been settled. He has been a member of the jury of the talent show Valentino Zvijezde on OTV Valentino, toured America for OTV Valentino, regularly takes part in charity concerts and now performs mostly in Europe. He has two sons.
