Neisha

Neisha, born Neža Buh on 5 January 1982 in Ljubljana, is a Slovenian pop singer, composer, pianist and keyboard player. As a child she moved with her family from Ljubljana to Hlavče Njive near Trebija in the Poljane Valley. She went to music schools in Cerkno and Škofja Loka, played keyboards in the band Ulixes as a teenager, and studied piano and composition at the music high school and the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. She won the Škerjanc Award for piano and harmony.

Beside classical music she worked with pop and rock artists such as Terrafolk and Big Foot Mama as an arranger, backing singer and keyboard player, and in 2002 she played keyboards on the promotional tour of Anika Horvat. Her solo career began in 2005 with the single "Planet za zadet" (in English "Straight to the Moon"). Her debut album, Neisha, on Nika Records, came out two weeks early because of the demand; in its first week only Atomik Harmonik sold more, and it became the best-selling album in Slovenia in both 2005 and 2006, with a platinum record. "Planet za zadet" won the award for best pop song at the Slovenian Radio Festival, and she received a Viktor as best musical performer of 2005.

Nor je ta svet followed in 2007, with concerts at Križanke and Cankarjev dom, and the English collection Miles Away in 2009. She has worked with Vlado Kreslin, Massimo, Vlatko Stefanovski and Kornelije Kovač, among others. Her longtime producer Dejan Radičević also worked on Krila (2010), a livelier and faster album.

Later albums are Radiofonika (2012), Za vesoljke in kavboje (2013), Vrhovi (2017) and Dvigam jadra (2022). She also writes for others: she composed "Sanjajva" for Nuša Derenda at EMA 2010, and recorded "Res je čudno" with Hamo of Hamo & Tribute 2 Love. Her newest single is "Najdi me", and she has marked twenty years of her career with a concert at Križanke in Ljubljana.
