About Marta Savić
Marta Savić is a Serbian folk singer and songwriter, born on 7 May 1966 in Vranjak, a village near Modriča. When she was two months old her family settled in Jaša Tomić in Serbia, and in 1978 they moved to Hannover in West Germany, where she finished primary school and a secondary school for tourism and took part in folk dance.
In 1988 she met the singer Mile Kitić at a shared concert, and they married later that year. The same year Jugoton released her first single, "Zaboravi druge žene", and her first album followed. Proklet bio came in 1990, then Grešnica in 1993, Nemoj bar ti in 1994 and Kad sam srela in 1996, which gave its title to her duet with Kitić.
Her run of albums continued with Kad zavoliš, pa izgubiš in 1999, Dijamanti, brilijanti in 2000, Ikad ili nikad in 2001, Nismo pucali jedno u drugo in 2002 and Ravno do Kosova in 2003; the title songs of the last four were released as singles. "Kukavice" and "Pusto ostrvo" were singles of the same years.
In 2005 she recorded "Vernost je prevara" with the Bulgarian singer Azis, and it appeared on her album Erotica in 2006. Muški kompleksi followed on K::CN Records in 2009, and in 2009 she sang "Rastanak" with Kitić.
Her thirteenth album, simply called 13, came out on K::CN Records on 24 October 2011. Its singles were "Na istoj sam adresi", "Ja nisam takva", "Idiot", whose first video was taken off YouTube and put back in a censored version, and "Mama" with Azis and Mirko Gavrić. The album also has "Ne veruj ni jednoj ženi" with Davor Marković. Since 13 she has mostly written songs rather than recorded them; "Fake replika" came out as a self-released single in 2016.
Marta Savić and Mile Kitić live in Belgrade. Their daughter Elena is also a singer.
