About Mark Marku

Mark Marku, full name Mark Xhon Kastriot Marku, is a pop singer from Kosovo, born on 6 December 1991 in Prizren. He grew up in a family of musicians: his father taught at a private music school and played in the Kosovo Philharmonic, and as a child Mark toured Kosovo giving solo violin concerts that his father organised.

He finished primary school and the Lorenc Antoni music high school in Prizren and then moved to Zagreb to continue his studies. He found his love of singing only around 2010, and said at the time that he preferred pop to classical music. In 2011 he entered the third season of the Croatian talent show Hrvatska traži zvijezdu, "just for fun" as he put it, and went all the way to third place.

After the show he released "Da si htjela", which did well in Croatia and was later sung in Albanian as "Për ty". In November 2013 he announced his Albanian debut at the Kënga Magjike festival. The playlist here gathers the videos from his own channel, among them "Da si htjela" and "Slomila si srce".
