About Marija Šerifović

Marija Šerifović is a Serbian pop singer from Kragujevac, born on 14 November 1984. She is the only child of the musicians Verica and Rajko Šerifović and finished the First Grammar School in her home town. Her first recording came in 1998, a TV performance of "Moje bube" that she recorded with her mother.

Her debut album Naj, najbolja came out on City Records in 2003. In 2004 she won the Pjesma Mediterana festival in Budva with "Bol do ludila", and her second album Bez ljubavi followed in 2006, promoted in 2007 with her first solo concert at Sava Centar in Belgrade.

In March 2007 she won Beovizija with "Molitva" and became the first singer to represent Serbia at Eurovision after independence. In Helsinki she topped the semi-final with 298 points and then won the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest in the final on 17 May with 268 points. "Molitva" also brought her the Marcel Bezençon Artistic Award, and around 70,000 people are said to have greeted her in front of the Belgrade City Assembly on her return.

The albums Nisam anđeo (2008), Anđeo (2009) and Hrabro (2014) followed; Hrabro includes "Gorka hrabrost", a duet with Alexander Rybak. Singles such as "Deo prošlosti", "11" and "Dobar Vam dan" kept her on the radio, and in 2019 she was named Female Artist of the Year at the MAC Awards. Her sixth studio album Dolazi ljubav came out on IDJTunes on 6 October 2023, with "Pola sunca", her duet with Matija Cvek, which reached number three on the Billboard Croatia Songs chart.

Marija Šerifović is also known as a concert artist, with a sold-out Belgrade Arena show in 2018 and the seven sold-out Druga strana ploče concerts of 2019, and as a long-serving judge on the talent show Zvezde Granda from 2015. In 2024 she faced Relja in a Red Bull SoundClash in Belgrade. This playlist gathers her official music videos.
