About Manntra

Manntra is a Croatian rock band from Umag in Istria, playing a mix of industrial and folk metal, folk rock and alternative rock. It was formed at the end of 2011 by singer Marko Matijević Sekul and bassist Zoltan Lečei, both from Omega Lithium, with drummer Andrea Kert joining soon after. The band is on Muzika-Balkan as a Croatian group founded in Croatia; its members are based in Umag, Rijeka and Zagreb.

The first single, "Kiša", topped charts in early 2012, filled clubs across Croatia and was noticed in Germany, Austria and Russia. The debut album, Horizont, followed on 29 November 2012. Venera in 2015 dropped much of the electronics for rawer folk instruments, with guests such as Klapa Neverin, and Meridijan in 2017 brought "Lanterne", "Kornati" and "Ne laži".

In 2019 Manntra took part in Dora, the Croatian selection for Eurovision, with "In the Shadows" and finished fourth. Their first English album, Oyka!, came out the same year, with "Yelena" and "Murter" featuring Michael Robert Rhein of In Extremo, and opened the way to German deals and big festivals. Monster Mind Consuming in 2021 was heavier, with "Heathens" and "Ori Ori", and Kreatura followed in 2022 on NoCut Entertainment, with a tour and the live album Endlich! Live in Hamburg.

Guitarist Marko Purišić, now better known as Baby Lasagna, played in the band in two spells until 2022. The current line-up has Matijević Sekul, Lečei, Kert, guitarist Dorian "Dodo" Pavlović and the masked multi-instrumentalist Barren King, who also plays the Istrian sopile.

The playlist is the Oyka! album, from "Oyka!" and "Yelena" to "In the Shadows" and "Murter". Metaklapa guest on "Everlasting".
