Baby Lasagna

Baby Lasagna is the stage name of Marko Purišić, a Croatian singer, songwriter and music producer born on 5 July 1995, who grew up and lives in Umag in Istria. His music mixes pop-punk, techno, metal and house, and he names the German band Rammstein as his main influence. In 2024 he gave Croatia its best result ever at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Music started with a guitar he asked his father for on his ninth birthday. From 2011 he played guitar in the Croatian folk metal band Manntra, with which he came fourth at Dora 2019 with "In the Shadows". In 2018 he also sang in the short-lived project Bastion with his Manntra bandmate Marko Matijević Sekul. In 2022 he co-wrote several songs for Ravenblack, the album by the German band Mono Inc. that went to number one in Germany, among them the singles "Princess of the Night" and "Empire".

After leaving Manntra in 2022 he went solo. His first single as Baby Lasagna, "IG Boy", came out on 21 October 2023, followed in December by "Don't Hate Yourself, But Don't Love Yourself Too Much". The stage name, he has said, means nothing at all: it came to him while walking along the waterfront in Novigrad, and he wanted something that sounded absurd.

"Rim Tim Tagi Dim", the story of a young man leaving Croatia in search of a better life, first entered Dora 2024 only as a reserve song. It went on to win the final on 25 February 2024 with 321 points and topped the HR Top 40. At Eurovision in Malmö on 11 May 2024 it won the public vote and finished second overall with 547 points. The next day about 6,000 people welcomed him on Zagreb's main square, and he asked that the government's 50,000 euro reward go to charity.

He then signed with Universal Music, released "And I", sold out three concerts at Zagreb's Šalata within minutes and toured Europe on the Meow Back Tour. His debut album DMNS & Mosquitoes came out on 7 February 2025, and in May 2025 he returned to the Eurovision stage to perform "#Eurodab" with the Finnish singer Käärijä. His later videos include "Stress", "Hypocritical", "Beskonačna osveta 2" with Vojko V and "End the Party".
