About Omega Lithium
Omega Lithium was a Croatian industrial and gothic metal band from Umag and Pula in Istria, active from 2007 to 2011. Although Croatian, their sound was often compared to the German Neue Deutsche Härte. They released the EP Andromeda in 2007 and signed with Drakkar Entertainment, then part of Sony BMG.
The debut album, Dreams in Formaline, came out on 18 September 2009. Its first single, "Stigmata", got a video shown on MTV, reached number four on the MTV Adria rock chart and stayed in rotation for more than two months; on YouTube it passed a quarter of a million views, a record for a debut song in the genre at the time. The German magazines Zillo and Sonic Seducer both named Omega Lithium newcomer of the year 2009. A North American edition of the album, with a bonus track, followed on Artoffact Records in April 2010.
In December 2009 the band toured with the German folk metal band Subway to Sally on their Kreuzfeuer tour. In 2010 they headlined the second stage at Metal Camp, played the Wave-Gotik-Treffen and closed the Dreams in Formaline tour at the Metal Female Voices Fest.
The second album, Kinetik, was released in 2011 on Drakkar Entertainment and Sony Music. It was recorded at Horus Studio in Hannover, produced by Žare Pak and co-produced by guitarist Malice Rime, with the singles "Colossus" and "Dance With Me". The line-up was singer Mya Mortensen, guitarist and keyboardist Malice Rime, bassist and lyricist Zoltan Harpax and drummer Torsten Nihill; Andrea Zuppani had sung with the band in its first year.
Omega Lithium split up at the end of 2011. Malice Rime and Zoltan Harpax went on to found the industrial folk metal band Manntra, and Torsten Nihill joined the Rijeka death and thrash metal band Monox. The playlist is the album Kinetik.
