About Maja Blagdan

Maja Blagdan is a Croatian pop singer from Split, born there on 16 May 1968, and a Porin award winner. She started singing at fourteen, and from 1986 to 1990 she sang with the Split group Stijene.

In 1992 she moved to Zagreb and signed an exclusive contract with Zrinko Tutić, one of the leading Croatian composers. The same year she won the jury's first prize at Zagrebfest with his song "Santa Maria". Her first album, Vino i gitare, followed in 1993 and brought her the Porin for best new artist, and Bijele ruže came out in 1994.

In 1996 she won Dora, the Croatian Eurovision selection, with "Sveta ljubav", and finished fourth with 98 points at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. Her album Sveta ljubav came out the same year, and in 1997 the song won her the Porin for best female vocal performance. She has been noted as the singer of the highest note ever sung at Eurovision, a B5 in "Sveta ljubav".

Ljubavi moja jedina followed in 1997, then Ti (1999), Ljubavi, ljubavi (2001), Moje ime je ljubav (2003) and Sretna žena (2008). After some quieter years her popularity grew again in 2007 with the HRT entertainment show Zvijezde pjevaju. She also tried the stage, as Mary Magdalene in the musical Uskrsli, and recorded duets such as "101 noć" with Alen Nižetić and "Pored tebe" with Jacques Houdek at the Split festival in 2005.

The playlist is her Best Of Collection, from "Sveta ljubav" and "Santa Maria" to "Jedini moj" and "Vino i gitare".
