His songs went to the Eurovision Song Contest three times: "Željo moja" sung by Doris Dragović in Bergen in 1986 (11th), "Hajde da ludujemo" by Tajči in Zagreb in 1990 (7th) and "Sveta ljubav" by Maja Blagdan in Oslo in 1996 (4th). He has produced more than thirty best-selling albums, and his songs have been sung by Severina, Mišo Kovač, Željko Bebek, Ivan Mikulić, Neda Ukraden, Tereza Kesovija, Novi fosili, Massimo and Davor Radolfi.

He wrote the music for five feature films, among them Zlatne godine, Nausikaja and Garcia, and won Golden Arenas at the Pula Film Festival for Putovanje tamnom polutkom (1995) and Kad mrtvi zapjevaju (1998). Until 2000 he was the author of the musical identity of Croatian Radio and Television. Since 1992 he has run Tutico, a record label and concert agency. A founder of the Croatian music award Porin, he received the Porin for lifetime achievement in 2017, the Milivoj Körbler award in 2019 and the Nova ploča award for 2023.
