About Lindita

Lindita, born Linda Halimi on 24 March 1989 in Novosella near Viti, is a Kosovo Albanian singer and songwriter who sings in both Albanian and English. She is known for her wide range and her use of the whistle register, and she sings mainly pop.

She came to notice on the third edition of the talent show Ethet, where she reached the top ten. At Top Fest she was named best new artist in 2007, took the Vodafone Club award in 2008 and won the festival in 2009 with "Ëndërroja". The same year her "Të dua vërtet" was named best rock song at Kënga Magjike, and in 2010 she shared the best performers award at Nota Fest with Big D.

In 2013 Lindita moved to the United States. There she worked with Stevie Wonder and Valerie Simpson, opened for the Backstreet Boys and, in 2016, took part in the fifteenth season of American Idol. She kept coming back to the Albanian festivals: in 2014 she finished third at the 53rd Festivali i Këngës with "S'të fal", and in December 2016 she won the 55th edition with "Botë", written by Gerald Xhari and Klodian Qafoku.

The win made her Albania's singer at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, where she performed the song in English as "World". She finished 14th in the first semi-final with 76 points, which was not enough for the final; the highest marks for her came from Montenegro's televoters, who gave her twelve points. In 2021 she placed seventh of 42 at Kënga Magjike with "Pa t'pa".

In 2023 Lindita released her first EP, Ain't Ya Average, with five songs, and spent 85 days in the house of Big Brother VIP Kosova. She now works as an independent singer and songwriter, and her recent singles include "Je je je", "How Far…?", "Rrena" and "Cka t'dush".
