About Klapa Šibenik
Klapa Šibenik is a Dalmatian klapa, a group of singers in the a cappella tradition, from the town of Šibenik. On its records many songs are accompanied by a small mandolin ensemble with guitar and double bass.
The klapa's albums include Dobra večer, uzorita (1975), Šibenska balada (1979), Rodija se sin (1981), Majstori pivači (1983) and Sve ti sritno bilo (1988), and the compilation Šibenske uspomene (2001). "Šibenska balada", from the 1979 album, is their greatest hit: the klapa's own notes call it one of the most popular songs ever sung by a klapa, still sung by Croats all over the world. Other favourites are "Dobra večer, uzorita", "Sve ti sritno bilo", "Evo san ti doša", "Klapo moja" and "Šibenik je to".
Their last hit, "Šibenske uspomene", won first prize at the Šibenska šansona festival in 1999. On 23 July 1997 Klapa Šibenik sang a concert in Šibenik in memory of their late member Joško Štošić. They also sang with two great names of Croatian song: with Mišo Kovač in 1986 on "Noćas ćemo zemlji ko materi reći", and with Arsen Dedić on "Odlazak" at the Šibenska šansona on 18 August 2000.
The best-known line-up had first tenor Radoslav Koštan, second tenors Branko Bubica and Zvonko Najev, baritone Ante Barbača and basses Anton Bataljaku and Dinko Gojanović-Rakić; Zoran Grubišić sang baritone on Sve ti sritno bilo.
