About Kazna Za Uši
Kazna Za Uši, often shortened to KZU, is a garage rock band from Belgrade, formed in the autumn of 1986 by the guitarist and singer Ivan Đorđević "Ivek". The name means punishment for the ears, and the band's sound mixes garage rock with punk and funk. It played its first concert the year it was formed.
Their first single, "Deri kamen" with "Moj drug" on the B-side, came out in 1991, and the same year two of their songs, "Teleći pogled" and "Nune Papa", appeared on a compilation. The debut album, Ispod zemlje, produced by Ljubomir "Jovec" Jovanović, followed in 1992, and that year the band won the audience award for best act at the Gitarijada festival in Zaječar. Izliv radosti, napad sreće (1994) was partly recorded live at the SKC, and the band also appeared on Radio B92's compilation Radio Utopia and on Bez struje.
Their best-known song is "Koska", which en.wikipedia describes as called the rock 'n' roll anthem of Serbia, alongside "Rođen lud" and "Kad budeš mrtav i beo". The third album, Zauške, produced by Jovanović and Goran Živković, came out in 1999, after which the band stopped. It came back for one concert at the Akademija club in 2006 and returned for good in 2009.
The single "Bez pipanja" (2010) reached fifth place on the Popboks singles chart, "S vetrom u kosi" (2013) was recorded with Ex Revolveri, and "Čučni, baby" came out in June 2015, ahead of the self-released album Nova zora with eleven songs. Ivek also won the best guitarist award at the Brzi bendovi Srbije festival. The playlist is the band's own channel, with videos from Nova zora and live recordings.
