About Izvorinka Milošević
Izvorinka Milošević is a Serbian folk singer, born Funtinjora Luga on 19 January 1954 in Neresnica near Kučevo, in eastern Serbia. Vlach was her first language, and she learned Serbian at school, where her name was written down as Izvorinka; the family surname had become Milošević after the Second World War. She sings Serbian folk songs and the music of the Vlachs, many of them in Vlach and Romanian, and is often called Izi.
She grew up listening to Radio Beograd, Radio Bucharest and Radio Timișoara and names Ksenija Cicvarić, Maria Tănase and Gheorghe Zamfir as her models. She trained as an economist in Požarevac, sang in a cultural society there and spent about a year in Mira Vasiljević's group Đerdan. Her first record, Vlaške pesme, came out on PGP RTB in 1971, and early singles such as "Vatrenica" and "Zar tako, dušo Radoje" were made with Radio Beograd editor Milan Obradović.
Over the following decades she recorded for PGP RTB, Diskoton, Jugoton and PGP RTS: Pepeljuga (1972), Slatka mala Vlajna (1980, with the ensemble of her husband, jazz cellist Miša Blam), Izvorinka (1981), Cica-maca (1983), Pazi, pazi šta činiš (1984), Miloje, Miloje (1985), Mene čuvaš za vremena teška (1987), Voja (1989), Sinoć sam se doterala (1990), Bog te meni poklonio (1994), Zaljubljivo srce (1995), the 20-song Vlach album Tumna afost ša plojat (1996) and Ne ubijajte golubove (1998). She sang at Beogradski sabor, MESAM and many Hit parade shows, acted in the TV drama Nešto iz života (1980), and recorded duets with Zoran Kalezić, Predrag Živković Tozovac and Ivana Selakov ("Heroj", 2012).
Since 2010 she has been artistic director of the Vlach music festival in Negotin. She still performs, often abroad, and sings with Goca Stojićević, Nena Vukadinović and Jasna Đokić in the quartet Gracije LM. She lives in Belgrade.
