About Ivan Zak
Ivan Zak, born Ivan Volarić on 26 April 1979 in Zagreb, is a Croatian pop singer and songwriter. Since his 2009 hit "Adrenalin" he has had a long run of hits, most of them written by himself.
He started early: at six he began playing the guitar, went on to finish music school and formed his first band at fourteen. In 1996 he sang "U meni živiš Julija" at the Trešnjevka children's festival. He then appeared at many festivals, among them Dora 2002, the Croatian Radio Festival in 2003 and the first Herzegovinian Radio Festival in Široki Brijeg in 2008. His debut single, "Sve navike", came out in 2003.
The breakthrough came in 2009. At the Croatian Radio Festival he reached the final with "Sve sam joj krao", whose video drew a lot of attention, and that summer "Adrenalin" topped most music charts. In 2010 he recorded "Tetovaža" with Neda Ukraden and "Aha" with Stoja, and both songs went on his first album, Adrenalin.
His second album, Bolja od najbolje (2012), was written and composed entirely by him, and he often says that its title song changed his life and the direction of his career. The third, Usne varane, came out on 25 April 2015, again fully his own work, and reached number one on the Croatian sales chart; its single "Pretjerujem" became a summer hit with millions of YouTube views. Hits such as "Sve si moje", "Meni se s tobom" and "Za ljubav rođeni" followed in 2016, and on 11 February 2017 he played to almost 18,000 people in Arena Zagreb.
His fourth album, Milion, was released in 2019. Later duets include "Kilometri ljubavi" with Boban Rajović and "Kad srce stane" with Dragana Mirković, and his newer videos include "U ekstazi", "Oči ko safiri" and "Nostalgija".
