About ITD Band
ITD Band is a pop rock band from Zagreb, Croatia, founded in 1982 by the songwriter Miroslav Drljača "Rus" after he left his previous band, Ad Fines. Rus has always been the band's composer and leader. The first line-up had Branislav Bekić on vocals, Jadranko Mileusnić on guitar, Rastislav Topolsky on keyboards, Nebojša Tepšić on drums and Milan Bekić on bass.
The debut album, Dvadeseti vijek (the sleeve reads 20. vijek), came out on Jugoton in 1984, with songs such as "XX vijek", "Žena ptica" and "Ponoćne vijesti". The band then moved to the Suzy label for Plavi vojnik (1986), the record that gave them "Rođen u Zagrebu", "Vojnička", "Elena", "Gradske cure" and "Sonja". According to the Love Zagreb city guide, "Rođen u Zagrebu" awakened local patriotism in the people of Zagreb, and the guide counts ITD Band among the most memorable bands of the city's new wave years.
By 1987 the line-up had changed, with guitarist Damir Lipošek Keks, bassist Dražen Tomljenović, keyboard player Fedor Boić and drummer Miroslav Budanko-Ajzić. Skidam te pogledom (Suzy-CBS, 1988) opened with "Majko zemljo", released as a single with "Lagano umirem (u tvome sjećanju)" and recorded with Albert Lee. For the last album of the decade, S ove strane ljubavi (1989), Davor Borno took over the vocals; after it the band stopped, and Rus devoted himself to writing songs for other performers.
Hit Records released the compilation Sve najbolje in 2006. According to Croatian Wikipedia the band got back together in 2018 and began releasing new songs, and singles such as "Plesač na žici", "Proljeće", "Zagreb" and "Kao sjena si koja me prati" led up to the album Orao nikad ne leti u jatu, released by Hit Records in 2023.
