Igor Cukrov

Igor Cukrov is a Croatian pop singer, born on 6 June 1984 in Šibenik. When he was two, the family moved to Split because of his father's work as a trumpet player in a navy orchestra. His father taught him the trumpet, and at the Josip Hatze music school he learned the guitar, clarinet and keyboards. At seven he won the Prvi pljesak children's festival in Split.

In 2007 he joined klapa Cambi at the invitation of its leader and made his debut at the Split festival, where he won the award for best newcomer. He studied theology at the Catholic Faculty of Theology in Split and, by his own account, at first thought about becoming a priest, but he left his studies to give himself fully to music.

In 2008 he took part in Operacija trijumf, the regional version of the talent show Fame Academy. He sang everything from Andrea Bocelli's "Con te partirò" to "Angie" by the Rolling Stones, as well as duets with Kemal Monteno, Vukašin Brajić and Nina Petković. He was voted out on the thirteenth gala night, when Brajić got more of the viewers' votes; juror Tonči Huljić later said that his elimination had been unfair.

In 2009 Igor Cukrov won Dora together with Andrea Šušnjara with "Lijepa Tena", written and composed by Huljić, and at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow he finished 18th of 25. "Mjesečar" followed the same year, then "Nebesa" with Magazin, "Treba li mi netko kao ti" and "Proli vino po meni" in 2010, "Daruj sreću novim ljudima" in 2016, "Svoj na svome" with Mile Perkov in 2022 and "Ono nešto to si ti" in 2024.

In 2025 he was one of the eight contestants in the ninth season of Tvoje lice zvuči poznato, winning the fourth episode as Tony Cetinski and the sixth as Oliver Dragojević. The playlist is his Topic channel, with "Lijepa Tena" in Croatian and Spanish, "Mjesečar", "Prolij vino po meni", "Volio sam cure" and "Jedna duša jedno tilo".
