About Halid Muslimović
Halid Muslimović is a folk and pop-folk singer from Prijedor, born there on 21 January 1961. He also writes and composes, and he is counted among the best-known and best-selling folk singers of the former Yugoslavia, often named as one of the forerunners of turbo-folk. Fans know him by the nickname "Plavi čuperak".
His recording career began with the single "Amela" / "Čuvaj prvu ljubav" on Diskoton in 1982, and the album Amela, ti i ja followed. Stoj jarane and Hej ljubavi u dalekom gradu came next, and in 1985 came the album Učini bar jedan pogrešan korak, which opens with "Putuj, putuj srećo moja". Known by the name of that song, it became, at the time, the third best-selling album ever in Yugoslavia.
The hits kept coming through the second half of the 1980s. "Mama ne da da te diram" and "Piši, piši jarane" appeared in 1986, followed by the albums Idi, druže, laku noć (1987), Vrati se, dok mladosti ima and Ljube mi se tvoje usne (both 1988) and Kunem se (1989); a Diskoton video collection that year paired its title song with "Žute dunje" and "Takav sam ja".
In the 1990s he released Sve me tebi vraća (1992), the two-volume Mene je učilo vrijeme (1993), Jaro, jarane (1994), Loša navika and Bolje svatovi. He also founded and owned his own labels under the Halix name, on which some of his releases of the 1990s and 2000s appeared.
After 2000 came Do bola, Želiš me, Opsesija, Greška najmilija (2008) and Adrenalin (2013), and from the 2020s he has released single songs, among them "Sjetićeš se mojih riječi", "Pjesma ocu" and "Ako umrem sad". In 2016 he received a lifetime achievement award in Niš, and in October 2026 Halid Muslimović released a new song, "Dobra stara vremena", on his official channel.
