About Dža ili Bu
Dža ili Bu, a Serbian expression for "to be or not to be", is a punk and alternative rock band from Belgrade, formed on 1 May 1987 by Nebojša Simeunović "Sabljar", bassist Duško Milojević, drummer Dejan Milojević and singer and guitarist Stojan Radičević. They became one of the most prominent acts of the Serbian rock scene of the 1990s and 2000s, with a provocative, ironic and socially aware lyrical style.
Their first concert was at the Rex cinema in January 1988. After Radičević left, Sabljar took over vocals, and in 1989 four songs appeared on the compilation Drugi talas – Beograd '89. The debut album Hej mornari (1992) brought "Živeo Staljin i svetska revolucija", and around a hundred concerts that year made Index Radio name them live act of the year. Spremanje ribljeg gulaša zahteva visoku koncentraciju (1993) added "Drugovi" and an ironic cover of Divlje Jagode's "Motori", with guests from Atheist Rap and Eva Braun.
Strašni sud (1995) brought the hits "Ustani i kreni" and "Večna lovišta" and was later voted 60th among the best Serbian albums since the break-up of Yugoslavia. Kao da ničeg nije ni bilo (1998) included "Pas koji hoda sam", a Serbian version of The Undertones' "Teenage Kicks". The band stopped in 1999 and re-formed in 2003, releasing the compilation Retrovizor in 2005 and Ultra muk in 2007, after which they played Exit and opened for Kaiser Chiefs at the Belgrade Arena.
Kukovo leto came out in 2013, and the band shared the Belgrade Calling stage with Billy Idol and Psihomodo Pop in 2014. Sedma sila (2016), with guests Nikola Vranjković and Zoran Marinković of Bjesovi, was followed by Jasno i glasno in 2022, announced with "Ja se smejem". The lyrics of seven of their songs are in Petar Janjatović's anthology of ex-YU rock poetry.
