About Damir Kedžo
Damir Kedžo is a Croatian pop singer, born on 24 May 1987 in Omišalj on the island of Krk. He finished music school there and sang in the church choir. His songs mix pop with elements of the Italian canzone, and he has also built a stage career in musicals.
At sixteen he auditioned for Nova TV's talent show Story Supernova Music Talents in 2003 and reached the top seven. In January 2004 he became part of Saša, Tin i Kedžo, the first Croatian boy band, with Saša Lozar and Tin Samardžić. Their album Instant sold 10,000 copies and their debut single "365" spent six weeks at the top of the Croatian charts, but the band split up in 2005 and he took a year off.
He came back at the Melodije Istre i Kvarnera festival: best debutant in 2006 with "Ki bi sad reke", best interpretation and first place with the jury in 2007 with "Kanet na vetru", second with the jury and third with the audience in 2009 with "Peza od zlata", and best interpretation again in 2012 with "Daj mi kapju vodi". His debut album came out in 2008 with "Sjećam se", "Idem" and "Kažnjen u duši". In 2010 he won the Grand Prix of the Slavianski Bazaar festival in Vitebsk, Belarus, and in 2015 the Russian festival New Wave. On stage he played Benjamin and Potiphar in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Hudi in the musical Crna kuća.
In 2016 he sang to 3,500 people at the Zamet hall in Rijeka on International Women's Day, and in December he won the third season of Tvoje lice zvuči poznato, after performing as Petar Grašo, Doris Dragović and others and taking the final as Mariah Carey. In January 2019 he won Zagrebfest with "Srce mi umire za njom", which was nominated for a Porin for best male vocal performance.
With "Divlji vjetre" he won Dora 2020 with 31 points, level with Mia Negovetić and ahead of her on the tie-break. He was to represent Croatia in Rotterdam, but the contest was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He returned to Dora with "Angels and Demons" in 2023, finishing fifth, and with "Voljena ženo", written with his regular collaborator Ante Pecotić, in 2024, finishing fourth. In 2024 he released "Tajna mojih pobjeda", made with Darko Dimitrov, and in 2025 he sang "Daljine" at Melodije Jadrana.
