About Bekrije
Bekrije is a tamburica band from Požega in Slavonia. It was founded there in 1993 and is still based there, which is why it is on this site. The name means "the revellers".
The first line-up was Robert Vojvodić on first vocals and bas-prim, Tomislav Galić on prim, Alen Botički on second bas-prim, Ivan Delvecio on kontra and Mario Pavletić on berde. Croatian Wikipedia counts that founding line-up among the three most listened-to tamburica bands in Croatia.
An early song of theirs was "Po prašini i divljini", which also named their debut album on Croatia Records. Drugom stranom followed on Orfej in 1997, then the album Bekrije (Orfej, 1998), and they also released Maru hoću i danju i noću. Their best-known song is "Garavušo garava" (1997), with words and music by Miroslav Škoro. With Dražen Žerić Žera of Crvena jabuka they recorded "Reci mi toplinom srca".
After their busiest years in the second half of the 1990s, the band took a break of about ten years around the turn of the millennium. Bekrije came back with Galić and Botički from the first line-up, joined by Zdravko Knežević, Marko Majstorović and Hrvoje Moćan, and with new songs such as "100" and "Za šaku ljubavi" with Frano Pehar.
The playlist gathers the band's own videos, from "Garavušo garava" to "Veseli lovac".
